How these are grouped

By trading name, not by licence holder. A multi-state operator holds its permits through one entity per state or per premises, so grouping on the holder splits a chain into unrelated fragments — it reported Curaleaf as 83 shops in 3 states when it is 104 in 5.

Groups whose stored name is a register's search expression rather than a business name are left out entirely, rather than published under a heading no company would recognise as itself.
